AFTERCARE

Aftercare is just as important as the ceremony itself—the process continues, and how you care for yourself now will shape the depth of your healing.

After Kambo Session

  • Try to stay off alcohol and recreational drugs for at least 24 hours after.

  • You may feel tired, emotional, or unusually sensitive for a few days. This is a natural part of the cleansing process as your body, emotions, and energy system recalibrate.

  • It’s recommended to be gentle with yourself in the days following your Kambo experience, since you may be more sensitive, allow time for rest and integration. It’s good to spend time with yourself and connect with the spirit of Kambo, to journal any messages or insights. Spending some quiet time in nature, meditating, going for walks, taking baths, receiving Reiki, painting and so on can be helpful in your integration process.

  • Re-mineralise with mineral water or coconut water to restore electrolyte balance in the body.

  • Hydrate! drink 8 - 10+ glasses of water a day depending on one's weight.

  • Refrain from having difficult to digest foods.

  • Try not to eat any fruit and sugar for minimum of 24 hours.

  • Some emotions from the past can come one the surface and so it’s recommended to have friends, loved ones, coaches, and counsellors to help support you in your integration and work through those emotions, thoughts or feelings.

  • You may resume taking your regular medications or supplements after the session unless we’ve discussed any exceptions beforehand.

  • Some people feel renewed immediately, others may feel an emotional detox unfold over several days. Give yourself space for this process—your body and spirit know what they’re doing.

Dressing your Points

The Kambo points typically fade within a few weeks to a few months, depending on your skin type and care. They are part of your healing story—many people wear them with pride.

After Kambo is removed from the top layer of skin, the gates/burns/points are clovered with a Peruvian anti-bacterial/fungal tree sap called Dragon's Blood. This helps the points to heal faster, it reduces inflammation and acts as a "liquid bandage" while providing a secure antibacterial barrier. There's no need to  cover points with bandage.

DO NOT pick the points or try to clean off the Dragon's Blood. The points will dry and fall off when they are healed naturally. The marks from points will heal and fade with time.

Two days after treatment you can apply some Coconut oil on top of your points to aid healing process, limit scaring and reduce itching.
